About[edit]

M2Engage is the in-house emulation suite deployed by M2. Exploration of the binaries included on the Sega Genesis Mini lead us to believe the suite is setup much like libRetro before it is compiled into a package and deployed to specific platforms for specific emulation.

On the Sega Genesis Mini ROMs and application dependencies are stored in a blob of data called alldata.bin, with a file called alldata.psb.m storing information on where and what to pull from the bin file. Upon further investigation both files can be expanded upon, even story binaries within the psb.m index file.

This file structure has been seen used with m2engage on the Wii U Virtual Console, and Konami's Castlevania Collection.
